The exercise session continues as the Master subjects him to another severe test of endurance with the nine-tailed leather whip and a hand spanking. Jason unfortunately continues to be insolent, which puts him even more in the uncomfortable position of deserving the punishments and more. In addition, he is unlucky in his choice of playing card, and it puts him on the receiving end of a further long and painful set of spankings, to which the boy has no choice but to submit and suffer this further punishment. The pain Jason feels is made worse by the humiliation he feels at his futile attempts to retain some of his pride.
